Next Friday, July 27th (12:30-2:00pm), Geoffrey Moore speaks to our community via Skype at the Mary Irwin Theater in Kelowna. Who is Geoffrey Moore?
Geoffrey is a Silicon Valley based high technology consultant and venture partner at Mohr Davidow Ventures. As one of the world’s leading high-tech business strategists, long time start-up enthusiasts, entrepreneurs and thought-leader followers know the significance of his work.
Geoffrey’s best-sellers include: Escape Velocity, Crossing the Chasm, Inside the Tornado, The Gorilla Game, Living on the Faultline and Dealing with Darwin. He covers topics in the areas of technology adoption cycles, the dynamics of post-chasm markets, company valuations, shareholder value and innovation in public enterprise. These are all derived from his hands-on consulting work at The McKenna Group and The Chasm Group in the Silicon Valley.
In this Escape Velocity talk, Geoffrey Moore discusses how companies can build the escape velocity necessary to move beyond the successes and failures of the past. Moore argues that “when companies focus too much on performance, they miss out on building the power to become the industry leaders that other companies envy.” He shares a hierarchy model through which companies can examine and build power, and how product teams can best work to differentiate their company, neutralize the competition, and optimize products and offers. The talk will be given in an intimate and interactive setting followed by an opportunity for the audience to ask questions.
Recently we caught Geoffrey tweeting it up “Looking forward to this!”
