Orcamax Secures Government of Canada Funding

AO Venture Acceleration Program Company, Orcamax Business Solutions, has secured funding from the NRC Industrial Research Assistance Program (NRC-IRAP) to develop full-scale infrastructure and multi-tenant commercialization.

Robert Ducharme, CEO of Orcamax said, “This is another great step forward for the company. Reaching this milestone really validates what we are doing. We saw the market opportunity and went for it.”

Launched on April 1st 2012, Orcamax Business solutions is creating work life balance for service contractors through innovation, creativity and thought leadership. Its geographic system has proven to create profitable customer interactive schedules and reduce long hours through improving scheduling and route optimization. This Software as a Service (SaaS) is targetted towards trades such as window cleaners, plumbers, maid services, carpet cleaners etc.

Their system is quickly and simlpy installed by contractors anywhere in the world. Once up and running, the software can potentially save the contractor up to $3000 per month by reducing admin, labour costs and fuel. The system can allow 1-2 extra booking per day and can help reduce cancellations.

They help service companies schedule for profit. Demanding customers, rising expenses, long hours… no problem, they can help!

Orcamax came top 5 in the Jump: Start:Challenge in 2011 and top 10 in the BCIC-New Ventures Competition winning a place on the BCIC Mentorship Program.

Securing the IRAP funding further legitimises what Robert and his team are doing. “We are really excited about securing the funding and the future of Orcamax” said Robert, stating that setting up new users with the software in a secure and efficient way has been a challenge. He adds that with this funding, they can address the problem, and assist companies in getting up-and-running within minutes.

“We are very thankful we found AO! We didn’t realise what we had until we came to AO. Without the mentorship, we may have never known this type of funding exists. This support has helped Orcamax create a detailed road map for full scale commercialization; it would have been very difficult to secure this type of funding without a prioritized work plan in place. The mentors helped us to  realize we had a commercialisable product, understand the market, develop the system and sell to new users.”

The AO team would like to congratulate Orcamax. Watch this space for further updates.
