Let’s face it, it’s not easy to take an idea and turn it into reality. Being an entrepreneur is hard because it’s all on you! Success is on you. Results are on you. Making the call is on you. Worst of all, doing the things you don’t like to do… also on you.

The truth is that being an entrepreneur will test you in ways you didn’t think possible but we want you to pursue it anyway. We also want you to know, you’re not alone. There are a ton of support services and funding opportunities available to entrepreneurs in the Okanagan ready to take the plunge.

Training Grants.

Training grants are an awesome opportunity to support your team and provide access to learning and development.

The Provincial Government recently updated the BC Employer Training Grant and the new structure is better than ever! The goal of these grants is to help BC residents access skills training to help grow companies and industries around the province. At the same time, incentives like these help employers subsidize the costs of training their employees and providing ongoing learning and growth opportunities for their teams.

Quick Facts about the BC Employer Training Grant:

What type of training is available?

  • Foundational Training Stream: This stream supports unemployed, under-employed and low-skilled British Columbians looking to obtain essential, transferable and certified skills to increase their access and security to good jobs. Cost: approved applications can get 100% of the training costs covered up to $10,000

  • Technical Skills Training Stream (calling all tech companies!): This stream supports employers looking to train current and new employees in technical skills in response to this fast-paced and ever-changing industry. Cost: approved applications can get 80% of the training costs covered up to $10,000

  • Workforce Training Stream: This stream supports employers to help their team members upgrade their skills. Cost: approved applications can get 60% of the training costs covered up to $5,000

How do I apply?
