The Startup Basics Program is a part of the Discovery Parks Technology Education Program, and this fall it will be hosted in collaboration with Westbank First Nation.
As a founder, you talk about your business everyday with friends, family, potential customers, investors, and employees. The question is, are these conversations effective? Are you keeping your audience in mind? Do you know how to grab attention? Are you confident speaking to the numbers?
Pitching is a core skill for any entrepreneur and the Pitching Power session of Startup Basics is designed to teach you how to make your pitch as powerful as possible. Alison Yesilcimen, Executive-in-Residence at Accelerate Okanagan and Business Advisor with SIDIT, will guide participants of this session through the do’s and don’ts of building a pitch deck, the mistakes you should never make, and a few secret weapons that have helped Alison both successfully launch startups and lead multi-million dollar businesses.
