Fast Track Investment Training Launches with $60,000 Investment Commitment

Fast Track is a new investment-training program that will provide due diligence education and pitch training to help tech companies in BC’s interior improve their chance of raising capital.

Fast Track is a new investment-training program that will provide due diligence education and pitch training to help tech companies in BC’s interior improve their chance of raising capital. Local investors have already committed to $60,000 seed investment, subject to a successful due diligence review, for a top company in the program.

In a national survey of 150 of Canada’s emerging tech companies, CEO’s identified funding and capital raising as their top challenge. Accelerate Okanagan is working with the community to help tackle this problem locally.

Fast Track builds on AO’s jump:start:challenge which provided pitch training for 28 very early stage tech companies over the last four years. The new Fast Track program adds due diligence training, targets later stage companies, and now includes commitments from investors.

Entry Evaluation Criteria:

  • Technology based (information / communications tech, clean/green tech, agricultural tech, life science tech, advanced manufacturing tech)
  • Product solves a problem for a specific target customer
  • Simple distribution model
  • Simple revenue model defined
  • Demonstrated traction – functional prototype, minimum viable product, customers, users, revenue
  • Founder Investment – demonstrated commitment from founder, friends, or family
  • Small but cross functional team
