WHO

You don’t have to be a tech entrepreneur to participate in this program. You don’t even have to be an entrepreneur at all. If you’re willing, you are welcome. Not in tech? Not a problem! Check out the details below and get yourself registered. Your entrepreneurial journey starts now.

WHERE

Here at Accelerate Okanagan on the second floor of the Innovation Centre. The Innovation Centre is located on the corner of Doyle and Ellis in the heart of Kelowna’s Cultural District. The goal of the Innovation Centre is to help build Canada’s most innovative, creative, and entrepreneurial technology community.

WHAT

Startup Basics is a classroom style program developed for early-stage entrepreneurs and career-changers. The Startup Basics program supplies participants with the tools and resources they need to accelerate their companies from idea to startup.

Sessions details…

Laws of Attraction | June 4th, 12pm – 1:30pm

This session is all about finding your customer. Entrepreneurs will walk through the Customer Discovery process and learn how to ask the right questions and formulate hypotheses to validate their product and market.

Pitching Power | June 6th, 12pm – 1:30pm

Whether it is to potential employees, current employees, customers, or investors the pitch is a pivotal part of any business. This session helps you understand the importance of your pitch both within and outside the investor context.

Business Building | June 11th, 4:30pm – 6pm

This session will have entrepreneurs planning the next step for their business ideas by using the nine elements of a business model canvas. This canvas is designed to get you thinking about your business holistically.

Legal & Accounting 101 | June 13th, 4:30pm – 6pm

There is no way to escape accountants or lawyers if you want to have a successful business from the beginning. This session includes a wealth of knowledge from Accelerate Okanagan’s legal and accounting community partners on financing basics, accounting for startups, company structures, and a compilation of typical legal needs and costs.
