3D Printing and Assembly Technician

VO2 Master builds and sells the world’s first truly wearable VO2 analyzer, with strong sales in North America, Europe, Oceania, and Asia. Based in Vernon, BC we enable academics, fitness centres, and coaching businesses to objectively access athletes’ performance and efficiency using measures of each major physiologic energy system. It’s in our human nature to need to measure our performance, to understand where we are at, and how we are going to get to where we want to be. The VO2 Master team is growing; we are in need of an assembly technician to help us build both production hardware units and internal prototypes. 


Reporting to the President, the Assembly Technician is primarily responsible for the 3D printing of plastic parts, organization of stock, and assembly of hardware units. The Assembly Technician will work closely with internal engineers and experience technicians to learn the tasks unique to VO2 Master.


Responsibilities

  • Maintain a system of 3D printers that produce all plastics for our products. This includes print scheduling, and part cleaning, sanding, curing, and inspecting.
  • Assemble and test both lab prototypes and production hardware units.
  • Package, ship, and receive units.
  • Service hardware units sent in for repair, service, or upgrade.
  • Maintain a simple inventory of 3D printer consumables, production components, and cleaning supplies.

Qualifications

  • Must be an outstanding tech nerd.
  • Excellent understanding of electronics and practical mechanics.
  • Experience in disassembling and assembling electronics.
  • Excellent dexterity.
  • An interest in process optimization and a strong attention to detail; proactively seek out and ameliorate issues and limitations.
  • Ability to multi-task and adapt to the fast-changing environment typical of early-stage ventures.

Nice-To-Have Qualifications

  • Experience with 3D printers. Training for 3D printing, assembly, service, and quality assurance unique to our company will be provided.
  • 2-years of practical hands-on experience.

Education

High school minimum. A technician or technologist degree is an asset.
