The Information Systems Executive has ownership of the establishment and execution of the enterprise wide IT strategy, and ensures its alignment with the business strategy and the delivery of capabilities required to achieve business success. The Information Systems Executive uses influencing and negotiation skills to create synergies across the organization to enable cost-effective and innovative shared solutions to achieve business goals. You will participate in and contribute to overall business strategy development, bringing a current knowledge and future vision of leveraging information and technology in business model design, business processes re-engineering, products and services development, and support for competitive advantage.
You will collaborate with executive leadership and business partners and act as a trusted advisor to define and execute the digital business strategy. The Information Systems Executive will build and maintain relationships with other executives and business unit leaders to develop a clear understanding of business needs; ensure cost-effective delivery of IT services to meet those needs, and is able to respond with agility to changing business priorities.
Active participation in and contribution to the assessment of external digital opportunities and threats, and internal technology capabilities is required to achieve desired competitive positioning. Participation in management committees; assistance in the process of making business changes appropriate to financial climate by contributing to the review and discussion of new developments, and partaking in the Credit Union budgeting process.
You will provide strategic direction and oversight for the design, development, operation and support of IT systems and programs that fulfill the needs of the business, including enterprise architecture management, application management, security and risk management, and infrastructure and operations support management. The Information Systems Executive identifies, as part of the strategic planning process, short and long-term goals and objectives for the Information Systems department; design, recommend and implement corporate policies and programs to meet those goals; ensure the even flow of communication concerning the overall Credit Union plan to all levels within the organization.
The Information System Executive provides leadership, coaching and direction to the IT leadership team and staff and ensures employees have the tools and work environment to be more engaged, productive and effective.
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration or related field, or equivalent work experience.
15+ years of experience in IT and business/industry.
7-9 years of leadership responsibilities.
5+ years of experience in related, industry-leading, large, cross-functional teams and/or enterprise wide programs, influencing senior-level management and key stakeholders effectively across the organization and within complex contexts is preferred.
Demonstrated experience in IT strategic planning, organization design and development.
Proven experience or demonstrated capability in leading IT transformational initiatives in complex and dynamic environments by taking advantage of digital opportunities to innovate business models and enable the digitalization of the business is preferred.
Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to develop and communicate an IT vision that inspires and motivates IT staff and aligns to the business strategy.
Ability to instill confidence in the business and demonstrate the business value of IT.
