Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Participate in pipeline workflow and development design, while working with artist groups to understand and document current workflows.
Communicate to COO and Head of Production needs of production and aid in prepping budgets to implement remedies for these needs
Solve challenges while finding efficiencies in developing new tools when required
Liaise with artists and supervisors to gather pipeline requirements.
Liaise with Software vendors and keep up to date on patches, beta testing and pricing options.
Participate in the continuous improvement of the development process.
Stay up to date with the latest technologies and industry trends.
Provide software and tools support to production and artists, while clearly documenting process for ease of use and adoption for end user.
Mentor junior level staff.
Troubleshoot technical issues with an eye for repeatable solutions
A minimum 2+ years of experience in a computer science related field or in a technical animation position
A good understanding of the Animation production pipeline an asset
Extensive knowledge and development experience using Python
Strong understanding of Linux and of one or more of the following software: ToonBoom, Flash, Maya, Katana, Houdini or Nuke
Experience with distributed version control such as Git
Excellent problem-solving skills
Strong communication skills
Ability and enthusiasm to adapt and work in a fast-pace environment
Ability to prioritize production needs and tasks

Experience with Shotgun
Experience with C++
Experience with SQL and/or NoSQL databases
