We are looking for a talented app and front-end software engineer to work on our novel motion tracking, biometric monitoring and BioAnalyticsTM analysis platform.
We're obsessed with producing actionable data for sport and healthcare on a global scale – and our team of scientists, engineers and product innovators have created an exceptional, exciting design-focused environment to work.
You'll be helping us build and evolve a world-beating suite of client applications for our flagship BioAnalyticsTM platform, an ultrawideband-based IoT system able to analyze athlete/patient movements with unrivalled accuracy.
You will be responsible for app and web front end code development. Ideally, you have experience, or willing to learn, to support some of our SysAdmin, PostgreSQL, MQTT and other parts of our software stack.Skills and experience:
Experienced, conversant with React or React Native – or an experience with other major front-end frameworks (Angular, Vue, Backbone) and a sincere desire to learn React
Demonstrable ability to thrive in an agile environment
Nice to have:
Experience working on data-intensive applications
Backend development skills in Python, Django (or an interest in picking up such skills)
Some exposure to progressive web applications (PWAs), mobile app development
Understanding of Internet of Things (IoT) network architecture, such as event-driven systems in general, or MQTT (etc) protocols in particular
Understanding of elite sports, fitness and/or medical technology spaces
Working within an agile, cross-functional team that includes hardware, product, UX and design
You'll be empowered to play a major role in the development of a family of high-profile client-side applications and interfaces being used by pro, Olympic, and NCAA teams
Refactor frontend code to support changes in product needs
You'll get to evolve front-end coding standards and guidelines – including build and test protocols
Work with technical leads to develop company frontend standards and guidelines
There is plenty of opportunity to hack – to try new things – to do whatever it takes to make our products better
Remuneration includes a salary and benefits based on experience. The position is based at XCO headquarters in Penticton, BC. – but we're open to discuss remote options.
