Okanagan Science Centre

Science is for everyone 2704 HWY 6, Vernon, BC

The Okanagan Science Centre is a charitable, non-profit whose mission is to “inspire scientific inquiry through dynamic and interactive learning experiences; to encourage all ages to appreciate the relevance and universality of science, and its application in our region.”

Specifically, we want to:

  • Inspire children to pursue careers in the STEM subjects (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math)
  • Educate children and families to become science literate citizens
  • Ensure people of the Okanagan know that exciting science happens right here
  • Make science for everyone

We pursue our objectives by maintaining galleries of hands-on, interactive exhibits for children and families, delivering science programs for local schools and organizations—both through field trips to the Okanagan Science Centre and outreach to the schools themselves—and putting on a range of Science Camps, Gallery Shows, Science Events, a Science in Society Speaker Series with Okanagan College, and other programs open to everyone.
